Donald C. Bakely

This is a significant book in that it is one book in a small category of books on disability from a Christian perspective. Bakely relates in free verse his emotions and experiences rearing a daughter with Down Syndrome, and to a lesser degree a son with severe multiple disabilities (who died as a child). There is a sequel called Down Syndrome: One Family's Journey, which addresses Beth's adult years, and includes perspectives from her six brothers and sisters.
