A brilliantly told story of children evacuated by sea to Canada during WW2, the sinking off their ship by torpedo, taking to lifeboats and eventual rescue andthe scars it left during their adult life. The story follows three very different children who survived and follows events from the perspective of two of them, Arthur and Dora, as their paths cross during their very different adult lives and the impact of Arthur's younger brother's death in the Atlantic. Highly recommended.
