Golden Angel

Jake is the captain and Mack the first mate of the most feared pirate ship in the Caribbean. They are on a mission of revenge against the governor of Antigua. Blythe wants to join their crew so she can get her revenge against his son-in-law who murdered her husband to get their land. Blythe is accepted in the crew. The three of them are attracted to each other. Will they act on their attraction? Will they get their revenge?

I liked this story. Blythe learns a lot about herself as well as Jake and Mack. I liked Mack. He was a tease. Jake was a true captain--his word is law. They teach Blythe a lot. She teaches them how dangerous a woman can be.

I wish this would have been longer. It was fun.… (más)

Delilah's guardian leaves her in the care of his aunt who has two granddaughters she is sponsoring for their first season. The granddaughters are twins who harass and bully Delilah. One day they start breaking their grandmother's knick-knacks blaming Delilah. Knowing she will be beaten, Delilah runs away with only the clothes on her back. She has no idea where she is running and ends up in the Warrens where the Tramp finds her in trouble from his rival. He rescues her as she has been on his mind since he saw her in Hyde Park. He offers his protection for a price. Will Delilah pay the price? Will she return home?

I loved this book! Delilah is young and innocent. She does not know her way around. Something in her appeals to the Tramp and he decides he must have her. I liked how the Tramp could be gentle but did not allow her to push him. Watching Delilah surrender and learn about her body and intimacy was beautiful. This is heavy on the Tramp and Delilah's intimate moments. It shows the Tramp's obsession with Delilah as well as why Delilah does not want to go back into society. She is freer with the Tramp. It also moves the story along. I loved that Delilah got her revenge as she realizes she is stronger than she ever thought.

I will miss these characters. I look forward to reading more of Golden Angel.… (más)

As they get closer to finding the traitor, Evie needs to be with her uncle as they try to question the nobility on Warwick and others at social events. Anthony goes into the Warrens to try to find Mitchell. Evie is not happy that Anthony goes without her. She shows how valuable her help is when they need to talk with the Tramp. She also shows Anthony and her family why is so successful in getting information they cannot get. She and Anthony also pick up and continue what they started in France. Will the traitor be found? Will Anthony and Evie get caught?

I enjoyed this book. Evie goes after what she wants--whether it is information or Anthony. I liked that she did not care about society's rules. She was modern. I had to laugh as Evie slips into roles to get the information she needs as easily as if she were an actress on stage. When Anthony and Elijah see her in action, it was a wake-up call to Anthony (and he knew what she was capable of.) I loved that she did not make it easy for Anthony. He had to up his game to keep up with her. I appreciated the look into Evie's past. She had street smarts.

I liked the Tramp. He is a big part of Evie's past. He is also a big help in tracking down Mitchell who used his gaming hell to work Mitchell's treason. It was a matter of honor for the Tramp to catch Mitchell and punish him. I'm not sure if the Marquess' men would have ever caught him in the Warrens.

I am going to miss these characters as this ends the series. Although the Tramp and his lady's story is told in The Lady, which I plan on reading.… (más)

Anthony is to meet his contact at a brothel where Evie is on the lookout for him. When he comes in, she goes to entertain him taking him to an upstairs room. She knows he is being set up so sets up the scene so the soldiers will think he is just a patron of the brothel, not the man they are to arrest. Anthony likes what Evie and he does and wants to set her up as his mistress. When he falls asleep, Evie leaves. When they next meet, it is at a Society of Sin event. Will Anthony recognize her? Will they repeat their night of passion? Does Anthony know who she is?

I enjoyed this short book. It is a good set-up for the final book of the series. It also gives the back story for Evie and Anthony's first meeting. I learned more about Evie. She is not like her other friends. She is more open about her sexuality. She has done what she needed to do to survive. I think she is going to keep Anthony on his toes. She'll be one or more steps ahead of him. Anthony is going to find that Evie is intelligent, more of a modern woman than he ever expected to want. She will test him. My question is will he be able to keep up with her? I hope so.
