Pablo Remembers is a heartwarming picture book of a young boy Pueblo and his tell tall tale of life during the festival of El Dia de Los Muertos, and the cultural underpinnings of family preparation, unity, and customs that Mexican life presents during this important tradition. Children of all ages, especially latino children in immersion schools who speak and have memories of this back home, will adore this book. I wondered out loud how altars of wine and flowers, and hot cocoa could be a beckoning for the children to return in spirit. From a tradition rich in a conflux of Aztec and Catholic traditions, it is important for young children to associate with these strong family traditions.
