In hindsight she had to leave to keep her sanity and maybe it helped her to grow up some. Her Secret Love is a story of finding your voice, speaking your mind, growing up and moving on. Not easy in a male charged work environment but she has faith. Logan is a chameleon of sorts. He does whatever it takes to make life easier for others. Sort of a tribute to fallen heroes. His world revolves around secrecy. I received an ARC of Her Secret, His Surprise by Paula Altenburg in exchange for an honest review. A fun intro to Ms. Altenburg's work. Comfort and escape set this couple on a course that ended up giving them the one thing they craved but were afraid to pursue. A family. This was a cute read.… (más)

In a world where demons not only exist, but once tormented our world only to be driven back by angels, half-demon children were left behind. Raven is one of those children. Her stepfather, a fundamentalist preacher, uses her half-demonness in an attempt to coerce her to have sex with him and when that fails he uses it to gain power for himself by denouncing her and attempting to burn her at the stake. She's rescued by Blade, a man who wants to escape from his past and from all the demons and angels, but who can't leave this innocent woman to such a fate. Of course they fall in love, it's paranormal romance. But there's some great worldbuilding here (cults, angels, assassins, half-demons), enough to make me wonder about the first book and about the rest of the people in this world.
