- As a girl, Lady Mabell Gore made friends with Princess May of Teck. Lady Mabell married David Ogilvy, 11th earl of Airlie,and had 6 children. In 1902, after her husband's death, she became a lady-in-waiting and confidante to her friend, who had become Princess of Wales and would later be Queen Mary. Her memoirs were discovered and published after her death.
