Distant Light is my fifth read from author Chloe Adler. I’m not normally a witch/shifter/vampire reader, but this is an extremely well-written story (dramatic romance) by a very good author and the characters and storyline would work just as well with mainstream characters and setting. I started reading the fourth book in the series and quickly realized that although touted as a stand-alone there was too much I was missing by not having read the first 3 books, so I got them and started reading. The only question left to answer was, will there be another book in the series? Question answered!… (más)

I had more feelings about this book I mean the first was amazing on part fo the story and you understand there more to her mother. I am just going to rant about her mom because truthfully that the one thing I do not understand about the author. How she can make the character strong and independent but still try and defend the actions of Iphigenia's mother. Even though the mother has her issues, shouldn't Iphigenia stop making excuses for her and accept that although her mother is who is because of her past that does not and should not affect Iphigenia runs her life? How Iphigenia is trying to become a person of her own?
There was a small glimpse into Iphigenia's mothers past but not enough to make the reader understand her motives into the overprotective or turning her daughters into rats.
I enjoy that she is trying to come out of her shell. The story and how her world works is awesome.

This explained so much. The reader finds out Iphigenia's mother's issues and although it does not excuse what she did. She should have learned about her magic.
I think this author weaved the marvelously not only did create a problem throughout the series that you know is there and you want the main character to realize she is in a toxic relationship and even though she understands her mother, as the reader I want to shake her and tell her hay she may be your mother but she is destroying you. This book explains why her mother has been the problem and although the reader understands the mother, I feel it should have been her that should have to be punished for her part in creating the monster. Even though she was the reason for the tragedies, I feel like there should have been more to her story of amending her wrongs, but since the beginning of the story, it was emphasised that this is Iphigenia's story I can understand why it was cut short.… (más)
