The question the authors set out to answer was how people working in shelters and rescue organizations, or others asked to make similar pronouncements, can determine whether a given canine is a wolf, a dog, or a wolf-dog combination. In the process, they examine the process of domestication, definition of species, physical attributes, behavior, and more. I read this book cover to cover on my only day off in months. It was a good way to spend the time.
