This is a truly original romance book. It begins with the legend of the Piasa bird and works into the romance of Delta and Jackson. I was intrigued at how well the two stories intertwined and meshed into one. I loved how her powers overcame fear and she totally became a badass for love. It was amazing to see all the community characters play a part in the romance. A well-written and well-developed story with fascinating characters that will make you smile. A quick read for that weekend you just want to relax. Check out the Piasa. I recommend it. It's a treat you can't afford to miss. A new author to me and I'm going to be looking for more.… (más)

We start with a fight oh wow. Miranda going through an ordeal. Tess is a brilliant friend. This is a fun story to read I would of loved more actually. I found bits of myself in Tessa and Miranda. There's not a dull moment in this read

Cute story. Quick read that's for sure.

Local man from well known family trying to help rebuild his town after a massive flood meets new in town elementary school teacher. Both have attitude and a stubborn streak the size of the Mississippi. What could these two possibly have in common and how soon before the gloves and the clothes start flying.

Mac is the eldest of 6, 7 boys so you know we will get to hear about all of them. Runs a construction company and has never had a problem with people not doing as he instructs, until.....
Dixie defends her younger brother against charges of vandalism to Mac's construction site. Words fly and so do the sparks.

We get to see these two fall over themselves to get to the other. There is a bit of mystery as to whom is doing all the damage. We meet the long gone brother Sam, who left to get away from town gossip and a broken heart. Oh and a big fire that causes all sorts of tense moments. Only thing I didn't like was the bringing of a gun to show and tell. That poor child would have been so traumatized and really it was sort of....come hug me and things are going to be alright...

Like I said in the beginning...cute story, quick read. Nice way to kill time waiting in the dr's office.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of Leather and Lace from Maggie Adams in exchange for an honest review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

There were several choice words that I shouted OUT LOUD when I finished reading Leather and Lace by Maggie Adams and they sounded something like “What happened to the rest of my book?!”

Leather and Lace is a short and sassy novel about young love, the differences between two families, and what it takes to overcome those differences. A fast read that kept me enthralled for the evening as I was reading it.

Now, all that said . . . “What happened to the rest of my book?!” It really drives me mad when I get engrossed in a story only to have it end abruptly and without warning. I’m now not so patiently waiting for the next installment which, I’m hoping, shall satisfy my “Tempered Steel” fix for more than a moment.

I highly recommend Leather and Lace by Maggie Adams and give it five frustratingly brewed cups of Room With Books coffee.
