Frank Acuff's book is a great primer on resolving negotiations of all stripes. He distills the necessary skills to a list of 7 steps (including 2. Help others get what they want, 6. Build trust at any cost and 7 Make persistence and patience and obsession) that will help one succeed in any negotiation.
His examples are real-world. I will re-read his book several times.
