Seth Remington was a man about thrills and speed. His father had expectations of him, a corporate life mainly, but that isn't the life he wanted for himself. I enjoyed how Seth thought he could get around these expectations and live his life as a playboy, but reality hits him in a number of ways.
Originally I didn't care for Seth as a character. He was twenty nine, and thanks to his father's wealth he has never held a job or supported himself in anyways. I felt that made him somewhat of a weak character. Seth seemed like a stereotypical playboy, he was wild and didn't care. Seth's attitude was the biggest problem I had with him, it was just a total turn off.
I love that Sterling, Seth's father, had his attorney rewrite his will to state that the inheritance will be completely tied up until Seth meets all of the criteria his father set out for him. I felt this was the wake up call that Seth needed.
One of the conditions was Seth had to work as a groom for horse trainer, Katie Murphy. I love the growing attraction between Seth and Katie, especially since another guideline Sterling had in place was no romantic relations with Katie while he worked for her.
Even though I found Murphy's Law to be a good read, with wonderful character development, overall I had a hard time getting rapped up in the story because of Seth's character, he just rubbed me the wrong way. However the ending was something I would have never guess and I was glad I stuck with it. ( )
