Two years after his murder the hero desperately seeks a way out of heaven, needing to be useful again in the war he knows is raging down on earth. With the angels around him unwilling to lend their hand, the hero becomes disgusted with them and though he is technically an angel, he's far from angelic. So when the shadowman comes calling seeking his love, the hero tricks him and is able to escape heaven and flee into the shadow plain. There, he's amazed to see the image of a dancer and spellbound by her beauty, he's able to use the gateway she's created to reenter the land of living, but with him comes the Wolf- a shadow creature hell bent of possessing the beautiful dancer as his mate. When the heroine first saw the wolf when she danced, she thought she was losing her mind. But when the wolf follows her home, she quickly becomes terrified. Then she's saved by a man who appoints himself her bodyguard and begins to explain the new world she suddenly finds herself. In. Though he's scary in his own way, particularly with how he makes her feel- the heroine isn't stupid. She knows that she feels safe when he's around, comforted by the deep seated knowledge that everything will be alright as long as he's near. But the stress and the weight of being hunted sits like the world on her shoulders. She holds up for most of it but as the story goes on, she starts to become more and more battered and tormented. Then comes the knowledge that her protector, the man who vowed to never let anything happen to her may be forced back where he came from. Devastated, the heroine beings to worry about just how much more she can take. The hero's time isn't his own. Heaven is looking for him and even if he could stay, he knows she deserves so much better than him. But that doesn't stop him from loving her since the second he saw her dance. As he seeks out aid in the war against the wraiths and a way to force the wolf back to the shadowland, he finds himself wrapped tighter and tighter to the heroine and as time ticks down, he wonders how he could possible stomach the idea of living without her. Once again, this author delivers with another stellar novel that resonates so much brighter than your typical paranormal romance. There's just something about the characters in this series that captures my heart and my attention. I think because they are so real and human despite the other worldly happenings around them. The hero who just wants to be useful and worthy - battling for the chance to save this special woman who deserves to live a normal life and who deserves to have all her dreams come true. The heroine who just wants to dance- shouldering everything thrown her way with just as much grace as her dancing yet slowly buckling under the strain, looking to the hero to protect her. Together they had mad chemistry and a deep connection that was instantaneous and burned bright throughout the story. There was also a healthy dose of action and a well developed and thought out plot line that was far from cookie cutter. This is the second book to the shadow series and though it wasn't quite as magical as the first, it still was pretty damn awesome. I didn't care for the man characters enough to really enjoy this romance, and it was basically a romance. It was too rushed, the couple "loved" each other too easy. The author spend so much time telling us how damaged the character were only to have them fall almost instantly in lust/love. There was also too much information on Ballet. I wish it would have focused more on the Fae story and the wolf/shadow spirit, that as truly fascinating. This is a beautifully written story about a ballet dancer with stubborness and witt who catches the attention of an angel who falls and a fae evil wolf. So the fight ensues for her soul. The book is a page turner and holds your attention to the end. You laugh cringe tense up cry and laugh some more. I loved this story. After the creepy seduction of BLACK SWAN, I was more than ready to be swept away by the world of ballet (and so happy that Annabelle was less nuts and more fun). SHADOW FALL was a well balanced book, with any of the angel-mythology weak spots being augmented by the creepy deliciousness of the Shadow Wolf. More primal and petulant than evil, Kellison did a wonderful job writing the back and forth between Wolf and Annabelle, while still making a relationship with Custo a reasonable possibility. Which was in doubt at time, as Custo did seem to be the weakest link the book. Not that he wasn't wonderful and funny and strong, but the mechanics behind his Heavenly jailbreak, or his "long term plan" as an angel on the lam were rather shaky. Once he was revealed as a jazz savant, I decided I just didn't have a good handle on him as a character, and was going to let it ride. I thought he was sexy, I thought Annabelle was phenomenal, and the motivations of Wolf were clear and believable, having Custo's puzzle piece be a little bit off didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story as a whole. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

~ 4 Shadow Fall Stars ~
Shadow Fall is book two in the Shadow series by Erin Kellison. This series continues to impress me. It's got angels, wraiths, Fae, and Death.
There is a 2 year time lapse between [b:Shadow Bound|7788758|Shadow Bound (Shadow, #1)|Erin Kellison|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1343025556s/7788758.jpg|10736358] and Shadow Fall. With the time lapse I recommend reading book one in the series first. For me it had been sometime since I read Shadow Bound that I was a little lost at the beginning, but the author did a great job with the prologue. She refreshes the readers memories and gives a clear explanation on the things that happened. All of this helped to pull me back into the plot and characters.
Ms. Kellison brings the dark side of the Fae out in this series. The pace is good, maybe a bit slow at the beginning, but that has to do with the author recapping some of the happenings in Shadow Bound. This story takes place in a few days. It's twisted, complicated, and full of action. The world building is interesting and the characters are fascinating. My favorite part is the ballet. The author does such a great job bringing the dance alive through her character.
Shadow Fall was an enjoyable read and I am very curious to see how it will all play out. I can't wait to read Deaths story.
