In part one, Bob Burns describes the poverty of the city after the Second World War which forced him to leave, and also describes the education which equipped him to take advantage of the opportunities offered to him at sea and in New York. Part two shows how the author grew up and matured working as an administrator and waiter on troopships and cruise ships which, between 1951 and 1959, took him all around the world. In part three, Bob describe how, while rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous when working in exclusive restaurants, he took advantage of the money and connections he made to set up his own bars and restaurants. Bob returned to Liverpool in 1969, he rebuilt his life and soon became his own boss once more, transforming the bar and pub scene in Liverpool with the introduction of theme bars - Irish and American. In all, this is an intriguing story of the development of a businessman. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
