Living in the former of Soviet republic of Georgia with her daughter Marina and granddaughter Ada, elderly Eka lives for the letters and phone calls from her son Otar who lives in Paris, France; after a tragedy strikes ending Otar's life, Marina and Ada struggle to keep Eka in the dark but are soon in trouble when Eka saves enough money to visit Paris. A family portrait of three generations of Georgian women in the city of Tbilisi. Eka obsesses over her physician son Otar, while the other two attempt to deal as best they can with Eka's burning desire to see him. A poignant, bittersweet story.
