Carino ma lento e banale.
Scrittura purtroppo poco avvincente, quando lo stile è ormai una delle poche cose che possono "salvare" un lettore dal tedio durante la lettura di un urban fantasy sui vampiri.

Peccato, io mi aspettavo molto, molto di più. ( )

Definitely a beach read, really just kind of a spin-off of Twilight, but I enjoyed Twilight, an a sort-of-creeped-out kind-of way. It's not the best thing you can read, but it was cute. ( )

Kind of a slow start for me but it eventually picked up some speed. There were some humorous moments and some definite kick-ass action. For me, it was more like laying the ground work for the series. I liked the characters that were introduced so far. Lucy might be a bit much for me sometimes, while Solange could have a little bit more energy. I guess in some way the best friends balance each other out. I loved that the female in this story are kick-ass women just wish they were allowed more opportunities to show that side of them. Wish there was more romance between the ladies and their guys. After they became an item the story was over. Hope to see more of their blossoming relationship in the next books.

Again, another twist to the Vampire lore, can't help but love it, no matter how alike it might be to the lore as a whole. Love reading about Vampires and enjoy seeing the twists each author pours from their imagination. This series seems to be a younger version of Urban Fantasies, like The Midnight Breed series and Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Liked the storytelling, and I feel like I've been introduce to just a piece of the world of the Drake Chronicles. Can't wait to see how the world of the Drake family builds. ( )

Budding romances, mystery, political plots, and adrenaline inducing fight scenes! This book kept me involved and intrigued the whole way through. I found myself not wanting to put it down and even now, I'm impatient to start book two. I like the differences this author put into the whole vampire legends. I also liked that there was just enough of each of the elements to not make this strictly a romance, or mystery or thriller. It was everything all rolled into one. ( )

This is the second time I've read this this year because I got confused (go figure). I really liked this book. The first time I read it, I read the whole thing in one day and I stayed up way to late finishing it. When I was rereading it I took my time because I had a general idea of what happened already. All of the different types of vampire's and their factions are pretty interesting and sometimes a little bit disgusting. I really like Lucy and Solange. I wish that the brothers had been a little bit more explored because they kind of felt a little bit one demensional. A quick, action packed read, hopefully we will get a little more character development in later books.

This was an arc that someone brought me back from ALA conference. ( )
