It isn't much of a mystery, since it is clear from the beginning that the Gatekeeper wants to come in and enslave all of humankind, the only question is who all is on its side, perhaps even headmaster Merlin himself. Several common mistakes are also made, including the use of time-travelling, as through it, James is involved in no less of an esteemed event than the founding of Hogwarts itself. I fail to see its appeal, but apparently every author needs to do a time-travel based story once and get it out of their system. Of course, no one does it right, but here's a hint: if you don't know about the closed loop predestination paradox and other problems and paradoxes involved with time travel, do not base your story on it. Period. Again it's only James and a couple of his friends who realize what's going on, of course, while the adults, including the famous Harry Potter, are totally ignorant of the impending doom of the entire humankind. Well, it's a good thing that the magical world has these wonderkids at their disposal whenever some bad stuff is going down, otherwise it would have been long gone. There's also the fact that (perhaps minor spoiler ahead) the Potter family is really rather very forgiving to the person who kidnaps and nearly murders one of their family members and nearly dooms all of humanity in the process. But hey, they were being influenced, so it's all good, right? The author has good imagination - new magic that he reveals is rather inventive and seems to fit even more logically into the world that JK's own stuff, but he just failed to connect all these details into an intriguing and well-rounded story this time. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

The only complaint I have is that the author seems to have tried to pack too much in this one... Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading the next ones! ( )
