Steve Pattrick's nonfictional book, Trees are Special, is an informational book for emergent readers. The format is explaining why the environment needs trees. With a maximum of three sentences per page, the full page illustrations are drawn with soft colors. The book explains how trees provide food such as apples and nuts in addition to shelter for animals. The colors are vibrant in the illustrations of the animals, particularly the yellow and blue in the wings of the birds. Pattrick uses the book to explain that trees create paper and without trees, this book wouldn't be possible to read. The short book is informative and encourages young readers to read. This beginner book has quite a bit of text for the reading level, and the story would benefit from enlarging the text. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
