This is about a loose tooth and a magically appearing quarter. I think. I've enjoyed other Toot & Puddle stories but am not convinced to check them all out from the library.... Btw, if your child's tooth is loose, don't pull it out until a simple tug with the fingers will get it out. No need for pain or tricks. Puddle's cousin Opal comes to visit and they show her all there is to see around Woodcock Pocket and have an adventure when she loses her tooth. http://webereading.com/2009/11/two-traveling-piglets.html A picture book in the Toot and Puddle series, which is about the day these two pigs receive a special visitor, their pig cousin Opal. The trio spend their time in idyllic summer activities, like swinging and swimming and picking strawberries. When Opal's tooth falls out, she's very excited at the prospect of meeting the tooth fairy, but Puddle is worried. Will the tooth fairy know the way to Woodcock Pocket, or will Puddle have to step in with an ingenious plan and save the day? Holly Hobbie's pigs are some of the most adorable characters in picture books. They are cute and innocent, yet full of adventure and exploration. They appeal to me in their purity, and also because of the ridiculous incongruity of pigs doing people things: riding the train, swimming in flippers, or being the tooth fairy. In this complicated world, it's nice to escape to the positive side of life with these simple and homey tales. Genre: This book is a good example of a Fantasy because it about a pig that visits her cousin and during the visit she looses her tooth. The author creates believable characters but they are not realistic because the pigs talk and in this story a Tooth Fairy comes. However, this story talks about a realistic experience that many children go through when they loose their tooth and hope for the Tooth Fairy to replace it with something marvelous.
