This one's a nice enough little book, but I'm going to rate it as waiting room material. It's a kids' romance, the story of a young Beduin couple in the 1300s pledged to marry each other. He has to go to Fez to study the Quran. She has to stay with the clan and count the months until his return. Then one day while travelling, her camel gets separated from the caravan and she's discovered by another tribe. They are quite hospitable, but the tribe's sheikh starts thinking that he could use another wife... Well, even though I diss this book for being a romance, I have to admit that Ms. Temple weaves a nice tale. The characters are likable and she breathes life into the settings. Your kids will probably hold it in higher esteem than I could.
