This book is a witness to the diversity of wisdom influence in the Old Testament and to the different branches of work being undertaken within wisdom studies. It is a fitting tribute to a scholar who has spent much of his scholarly life engaged in a whole variety of wisdom questions--although he has also worked in other areas as the extensive bibliography at the end of the book shows.

It is a collection of consistently high quality which gives appropriate testimony to Roland E. Murphy, who has known Wisdom as his sister for many years.
