This is a very basic book that models some bad and good behaviors for young children. The text is very simple, with only the words "no no" and "yes yes" on each page; these are illustrated with complementary pictures. For instance, a spread will portray "no no" with the baby using crayons on the wall and "yes yes" with the baby sitting at a table and drawing on paper. I found that it worked best to expand upon the simple language with a more detailed explanation. For example, "No, no, baby, we don't color on walls. Yes, yes, baby, we color on paper." The toddlers in my class loved this book so much that they literally asked for it by name. (Having a simple name helps, I suppose!) On a downside, this book might end up teaching some children negative behaviors they hadn't thought of on their own, but hopefully it'll simply work to remind young children of some basic rules and safety tips. I did worry, for instance, about a "no no" that showed the baby putting toys in the toilet - something that luckily has not been an issue in my classroom yet. But I found that after reading the book, the children went in to the bathroom and said "No, no, baby, we don't put toys in the potty. We sit on the potty!" Clearly they remembered the story, and they also remembered what they should and should not do! ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
