This is a great story for beginner readers, because the sentences are simple and the vocabulary in the book is simple. For example, the first sentence of the book is, "There are three children in Fred's family," this is an example of the many simple sentences in the book. This book is also good for schools that have a lot of diversity because the main character and his family are African American. This book is also a great story for children, because students can relate to the first day of school. Student's can also relate to Fred because he tends to be clumsier than he realizes. The book shows good lessons, by showing how Fred has become more aware of his surroundings. On the beginning of Fred's first day he ended up knocking over a bunch of students towers, and accidentally bumping into a girl and she scraped her knee. At the end of the book, Fred apologized and gave the students hugs. This is a good lesson to show children that you can be forgiven for a small mistake. Another lesson is that just because you have a rough start to the day, doesn't mean your day will stay like that. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
