Drawing on the Holy Scriptures, the Fathers, history, philosophy, Jungian psychology and contemporary writers, Paul Evdokimov seeks to provide an Orthodox answer to questions of the rights of women in the family, the Church and society. He supports the existence of a single nature appearing in two types - that of man and that of woman - and compares this idea with the mystery of the Holy Trinity, creating parallels and effectively, a theology of woman. Convinced of the harmful influence of male dominance in Church and society, Evdokimov posits men and women as complementary, yet with distinct charisms and vocations.
