It focuses more on Rita's last time seeing her grandfather before moving to the United states. He shows her around the village and shares aspects of his life and a gift to remember him by. I enjoyed how this book links the importance of family, heritage, and culture. It is exciting and helpful for a child to learn who they are by first getting to know their family and culture. This book shows the excitement and joy that can come from spending time with your grandparents and learning from their experiences and passions. Especially in Arizona, some young children will be able to relate to having family away in Mexico or some far place that they don't get to see often. It shows how when we miss people we can turn to memories or "family treasures" that may connect us to that person or culture for comfort or direction. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
