It never grabbed me and I couldn't find one character I liked. Really dragged, but then the end rushed to conclusion. For a small town where everyone knew everyone's else's business, these folks were sure able to keep a lot of secrets. And it's scary that all their law enforcement personnel were dysfunctional. Rainie, especially, is one big hot mess. Get a grip, girl! Normally this would have been a DNF, but I made myself finish because I wanted to see how the author would pull things together. I liked the research info about serial killers -- found it interesting. The unthinkable happens in s small peaceful town in Oregon -- a school shooting. Two students and a teacher. The sheriff's son caught with guns in his hands. Did he do it? Was he coerced? These are the questions that are investigated by local cop Rainey and FBI profiler, Pierce Quincy, each of whom have their own ghosts. Gripping. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

FBI Profiler series #2. Police procedural thriller. Can be read as a stand-alone. Trigger warnings: school shootings and children victims.
A school shooting in Bakersville, Oregon is a horrific crime but Officer Rainie Conner has the confession of the boy caught with the guns. But the evidence doesn’t all match up and even though it’s her first homicide investigation, Rainie is a professional and wants to make sure everything is correct. FBI profiler Pierce Quincy is brought in to help. Together he and Rainie find there had to be someone else in the school.
You think you know everything about the people in the small town? Maybe not.
Absorbing and intense. Twists take it deeper and the police have more to investigate further back than expected. Intense. ( )
