"A millionaire and a woman who thinks he's a house flipper are stuck living in a house together with a menagerie of rescue dogs as roommates, in this heartfelt romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton. After her ex took all theirmoney and bailed, Hazel Bristow has no place for her and her foster dogs to live. A kind friend whose home is on the market lets Hazel and her fur babies stay there until it sells. It seems like the perfect setup, until her friend forgets to tell Hazel she's sold the house. Linc Kennedy is shocked to find Hazel and her pups squatting in the house he just bought, but after some negotiating-she offers to cook amazing meals for him-he agrees to let her remain while she looks for a new place. Linc tells Hazel he's a house flipper, when really he's a wealthy investor who renovates homes for fun. Hazel's intrigued by Linc. He's funny, sweet, ridiculously hot, and loves dogs almost as much as she does. But her track record with men? Not great. She worries her trust meter isn't in working order. Linc's never met anyone like the quirky beauty who puts everyone's needs-human and canine-before her own. He didn't tell her who he really was because he's been burned by women who only wanted him for his money. But withHazel, he's never felt more like himself. Now he has to figure out how to tell her the truth without losing her. Because Linc realizes what he feels for her isn't puppy love--it's true love"--… (más)

Hazel is broke after her ex-husband stole all her money. Luckily, her friend let her stay in her home in Orlando, along with her menagerie of dogs that she fosters, until the house could be sold. But, her house did sell, and the friend forgot to tell Hazel, so Hazel almost clobbers Lincoln (Linc) Kennedy when he comes into the house while she is there.
Linc allows Hazel to stay in the house after he hears her sad story, and Hazel becomes his cook. Linc is a multi-millionaire, but Hazel thinks he is a house flipper. Linc doesn't want to tell her, because money makes people change.
Linc begins to fall for Hazel and her dogs, and the feeling is mutual.
This is a really cute story about one woman's fight to be independent, and the man who encourages her to follow her dreams.
I don't think the cover is great on this one - looks cartoonish. ( )

“They were a perfect mismatch.”

I could easily see this as a Hallmark movie of the week. A dog loving woman without a plan squatting in her friends’ empty house...who forgot to tell her it had been sold to a good looking millionaire house flipper...who immediately hires her to be his personal chef for the duration of the remodel. A little far fetched, maybe? Yet entertaining and would make a great summer beach read. ( )

This was fun! I must admit that the dogs were such a big part of the story was a huge plus for me. I just wish my dogs were as well-behaved as the dogs in this story were. Was it a bit far-fetched to think that someone who just bought a house would let someone he doesn’t know continue to live there with her 5 dogs – and pay them a salary to cook meals? Probably, but I just went with it and had a lot of fun in the end.

Linc and Hazel were wonderful characters and seemed perfect for one another. Linc is wealthy and can let others run his company while he rehabs houses because that is what he enjoys. Hazel is in a tough spot. Her ex took everything and she is doing what she can to get back on her feet while taking care of her 5 foster dogs that mean the world to her. I loved watching Linc interact with both Hazel and her dogs. He was such a softie when it came to those pups which was a very good sign. I thought that they had wonderful chemistry together and couldn’t wait to see them figure things out.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought it was a fun romance and loved that it featured a whole pack of dogs. I looked forward to picking up this book each time that I had the chance and couldn’t wait to see Linc and Hazel find their happily ever after. I look forward to reading more of Jaci Burton’s work in the not-to-distant future.

I received a digital review copy of this book from Berkley Publishing. ( )

After her ex took all their money and bailed, Hazel Bristow is left broke and homeless. A friend whose home is on the market lets Hazel and her foster dogs stay there until it sells. It's the perfect setup, until her friend forgets to tell Hazel she's sold the house!

Linc Kennedy is shocked to find Hazel squatting in the house he just bought, but after some negotiating, he agrees she can stay while he's renovating the place. Linc tells Hazel he's an investor who renovates homes for fun-but having been burned in the past by women who have only wanted his money, he leaves out that he's also extremely wealthy...

Hazel's intrigued by sweet, funny Linc. But her track record with men isn't great, and trust doesn't come easy.
Linc's never met anyone like the quirky beauty who puts everyone's needs before her own. But can he figure out how to tell Hazel the truth without losing her? ( )
