Mary Prince was born into slavery in the Caribbean in 1788. After a hard life of toil and cruelty, she arrived in London in 1828. There she dictated the history of her suffering to the Anti-Slavery Society. Part of a series of biographies of Black British heroes, this title is written by and for children in school projects.
