I love how these little shorts stories add a larger context (that they might actually be having a religious impact in the world) and also just give a beautiful image, of the snow and the wind and the bright lights of the bookstore with magic waking inside. ( ) A small and largely pointless story - except that it links a lot of things, and is lovely all by itself. I like Sister Mirabelle, I hope she comes into the main story as well. Tabitha too - I wonder why she came in, though it may have been for much the same reasons Sister Mirabelle did. The ripples of what Dart and Jemis did/what happened to them are still spreading, wider and wider...political concerns, and the Church of the Lady...hmmm. And...now I need to reread the whole G&D series. I really missed how Roald was behaving, but it's made quite explicit here. A lovely Christmas gift from the author to her newsletter readers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

A short fantasy story for the winter holidays! Early in the new year, Sister Mirabelle of the Linder Church of the Lady is sent to Ragnor Bella to investigate rumours of a saint. Her job is to determine whether it's magic, trickery, or even, just possibly, a real miracle. Taking refuge from the snow and wind in the town's small bookstore, she encounters one Jemis Greenwing, who has a few curious things to relate to her. This story takes place after Plum Duff (Greenwing & Dart #6) and does contain references to certain major events from earlier in Greenwing & Dart. However, if you don't mind a few spoilers, it's also a good introduction to Jemis Greenwing and thus an admirable entry point to the series--a taster, rather like at the grocery store ...
