This is such a joy of a light(ish) crime fiction series that I've had the great pleasure of listening to. https://www.austcrimefiction.org/review/last-devil-die-richard-osman Another romp with Elizabeth, Ron, Bogdan, Joyce and Ibrahim. As with volumes 2&3 I found it enjoyable but just too blatantly formulaic, hence being tight with my * rating. That said, each novel has offered something thought provoking and authentic beyond its murder plot. In this volume it was the Elizabeth/Stephen thread about his dementia. I've rarely come across such a touching presentation of a difficult subject. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Shocking news reaches them--an old friend has been killed, and a dangerous package he was protecting has gone missing. The gang's search leads them into the antiques business, where the tricks of the trade are as old as the objects themselves. As they encounter drug dealers, art forgers, and online fraudsters--as well as heartache close to home--Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim have no idea whom to trust. With the body count rising, the clock ticking down, and trouble firmly on their tail, has their luck finally run out? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Disturbing news reaches Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron & Ibrahim - the Thursday Murder Club. An old friend has been murdered and a ‘special’ package he was protecting has gone missing.
In their desire to solve the murder, the group encounters drug dealers, art forgers, antiques dealers, antiquities experts and fraudsters of all types. As the body count increases, they don’t know who to trust.
Brilliant plotting, likeable, quirky characters, a nice retirement village, lots of cakes, snacks and wine and lots of information and thoughts on dementia and end of life directives.
The dialogue and diary entries (thanks to Joyce) are interesting, funny, endearing, surprising, charming, intelligent and very often deeply thought-provoking.
I seem to be addicted to The Thursday Murder Club! ***** ( )
