Continuing to catch up on historical characters released after I aged out of the demographic- Meet Claudie! The title hearkens back to the original historical American Girl series, but unfortunately sticks with the current trend of two books per girl (and this one feels relatively short as it is). I believe the 20th century now has a character for every decade (thx, 1999 twins). This one also has a nice Looking Back section as well as reader questions.

Claudie lives in a boarding house, but in the face of potential eviction decides to put on a variety show! Meanwhile, she worries about not having a talent even though her grownup friends remind her that it takes practice to get good at something once you figure out what you have a passion for.

Seems odd they didn't release both at once, but the second one will hopefully be at my library if it isn't already. I'm a bit worried about the Georgia trip buuuuuut given the age demographic, maybe it'll be ok (I say, as if I didn't read Courtney's friend dealing with AIDS or classic Samantha fighting child labor).
