Kelli works in the orphanage that she was raised in, taking care of the children, especially her favorite one, Charlie. She'd been taking care oof him him since he was only a few weeks old. He has a bad leg, so he spends most of his time helping Kelli with the babies and in the kitchen. So when she was asked to assist with the children on the Orphan Train, she begs for Charlie to come with her. Not only because she'd miss him terribly but she also wants to give him a chance of a better life. She also wonders if this is all her life will entail, she prays for love and a family of her own. Will God answer her prayers?

Carter Hardy is a wealthy rancher. His wife Abby passed away shortly after his daughter was born. Will he ever be open to falling in love again?

This was an endearing story of trusting in God. I was immediately drawn into Kelli's desires and praying to God for guidance and patience. Throughout the novel, in every trial, she was quietly praying, she never got angry at God, only at herself. I was in awe when she and Charlie began their new life. Just going boldly in faith, if only we all could have that kind of courage and faith that He's completely in control of the situation. This was a powerful and moving story! Teresa Lilly reminds us that we are never alone and our faith can be unshakeable!
