This was a great read! Good characters, good plot and a good pace! I really liked the characters and the world buildingBook source ~ BBNYA Tour Tinker Bell and Captain Hook meet and fireworks ensue. This is so not a tale for little ears. Hubba hubba. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I went into this story, but it took me by surprise. It’s been so long since I’ve seen Peter Pan (1953 Disney version) that I couldn’t even tell you about it. This is a version that’s for adults and told from Tinker Bell and Captain Hook’s POVs. It has an excellent plot, great characters, and just right pacing. There’s danger and humor and steaminess, oh my! If you like fairy tale retellings then this well-written adventure is just the one for you. Don’t skip it! Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. There used to be a pretty good TV show called "Once Upon a Time" that cleverly and wittily mashed up characters from Fairy Tales - Snow White, Rumplestiltskin, Peter Pan and others, and dropped them all in a New England town for soap opera romance and galloping magical adventures. Second Star to the Left is sort of like that. Tinker Bell has lost her powers and is on a quest to recover them and get back to the Land of the Pixies, where she has been sort of banished. And she steals from Captain Hook, along the way, and then is forced to teams up with him to find a way to repair Tink's "Magic Bracelet" and to gain Hook's revenge against "The Crocodile" who deprived him of his hand. All this is well and good. But the characters are broad and not super well defined, (the author just sort of assumes we know who Hook and Tink are, i guess) and the secondary characters come and go so fast you can't get a grip on them. and while a lot of it is exciting fun a lot of is is just the same thing over and over again. There are a number of very hot sex scenes between Hook and Tinkerbelle, just - you know - because they can. And just like on the TV show achieving goal "Z" means having to complete task "B" and secret mission "A" and i promise you you will get just as confused as poor Smee does. So call it FanFic and let it go at that. Not bad but really not as good as it could have been. You may like it more than I did. If you like reimagined tales with characters that may not be quite what they were originally written as, you will enjoy this. There is a lot going on in this story. Lots of twists and turns and even romance. If you're looking for a fun and different read, give it a shot. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Tinker Bell, banished from her homeland for doing the unthinkable, selling the hottest drug in Neverland—pixie dust—wants absolution.Determined to find a way home, Tink doesn’t hesitate to follow the one lead she has, even if that means seducing a filthy pirate to steal precious gems out from under his…hook. Sounds familiar? Well it is familiar. Tinker Bell and Captain Hook have to work together to find a cure for a curse she threw on him. And it goes to a steaming romance! Nice enough to read to the end. Disclaimer: I got this book in the Librarything Early Reviewers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: Tinker Bell, banished from her homeland for doing the unthinkable, selling the hottest drug in Neverland—pixie dust—wants absolution. Determined to find a way home, Tink doesn't hesitate to follow the one lead she has, even if that means seducing a filthy pirate to steal precious gems out from under his...hook. Captain Hook believes he's found a real treasure in Tink. That is, until he recovers from her pixie dust laced kiss with a curse that turns the seas against him. With his ship and reputation at the mercy of raging storms, he tracks down the little minx and demands she remove the curse. Too bad she can't. However, the mermaid queen has a solution to both of their problems, if Tink and Hook will work together to retrieve a magical item for her. As they venture to the mysterious Shrouded Isles to find the priceless treasure, their shared nemesis closes in. However, his wrath is nothing compared to the realization that achieving their goal may mean losing something they never expected to find—each other. The swagger and adventure of Pirates of the Caribbean meets the sexy banter of The Hating Game with a healthy dose of steam in this retelling of Peter Pan that's far from the Neverland you know. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
