This is a Dark. Very Very Dark. Way darker and more tragic than the magical world (so to speak) that Netflix put together. This is an incredibly well written graphic novel. It will make you angry, sad, happy, and hopeful, sometimes all at the same time. This is the story of the ending of humanity, through hubris, and the remaking of the new world from the ruins of the previous ones. While the volume I read is a compendium of all 13 volumes, the last volumes are the my favorite, the way the conflict is handled left me in awe of the story telling. But the story is brutal. When most of humanity is dead, and the rest of humanity is just waiting to die, there is no morality. The travesties that are done, is just heartbreaking. This book does not shy away from that. And last, the illustration style suits the book. In a different type of story, it would not work, but here, the line work, the colors, the starkness, it adds to the bleakness of the story. I highly recommend this book. Its a graphic novel that I would give to people who haven't spent a lot of time with Graphic Novels, but like a well written story of a certain type. I decided to read the graphic novel after watching season 1 of Sweet Tooth on Netflix because I really needed to know that nothing bad happens to Bobby. Naive me expecting a cute and sweet comic like the tv show and ended up reading 900 pages of the bleakest, horrifying, gore fest that gave me nightmares. Trauma aside, it was very very well-written with incredible art, and the ending that destroyed my soul in the best way was worthwhile. If the TV adaptation goes in a similar vein, there shall be tears for years. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
