In this book Watchman Nee shows that the most important thing in the work of God is not the actual work but the worker. If the beleiver is not skilled specially in character, it's best to not put your hands in the work of the Lord, for it will create problems and divistion in the body of Christ. The only way to contribute in the work of the Lord is if there has been a transformation in your life and in your spiritual character. The Character of God's Workman says the worker needs to have the following characteristics: * Knows to listen * Loves humanity * Is able to suffer * Summits to serve * Is diligent * Restrains the tongue * Is subjective * Has the correct atttitude with money The principal motivation of the author is that the work of God not suffer because of unprepared workers and also, to strengthen those God has called to become efficient servants of Christ.
