Fiction. Literature. Romance. HTML:A "captivating and bittersweet" novel by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Summer of '69: Their secret love affair has lasted for decadesâ??but this could be the summer that changes everything (People).
When Mallory Blessing's son, Link, receives deathbed instructions from his mother to call a number on a slip of paper in her desk drawer, he's not sure what to expect. But he certainly does not expect Jake McCloud to answer. It's the late spring of 2020 and Jake's wife, Ursula DeGournsey, is the frontrunner in the upcoming Presidential election.
There must be a mistake, Link thinks. How do Mallory and Jake know each other?
Flash back to the sweet summer of 1993: Mallory has just inherited a beachfront cottage on Nantucket from her aunt, and she agrees to host her brother's bachelor party. This one fell flat for me, I liked how interwoven this one is with past books but Mallory just wasn't as likable to me. ( )

GREAT SUMMER READ!
I just finished my first Romanceathon book, and loved it!! I have always been an Elin Hilderbrand fan (I pre-order and anxiously await the June release every year!) but a couple of her recent books were good but not my favorite. Blue Bistro and Nantucket Nights were always favorites but I have a new favorite to add to the list!!! I Loved this one!! The story was captivating and the characters were so likeable! There were also a lot of references from MA and PA that I related to which made my love for it even stronger ( )

Elin Hilderbrand does her spin on the film Same Time Next Year. Who wouldn’t want to spend only a week a for year twenty-eight summers in Nantucket with your lover? Of course, you’d have to do without your lover the remainder of the year. The bucketful of tears at the end make this one of Hilderbrand’s best. ( )
