In life, there will be many questions unanswered. At some time, usually, instead of taking people's help sometimes, books come to the rescue. They are self-help books. According to the subject and topic, written by the subject matter experts, many such books worldwide have been embraced.

From an anonymous source, it is said that there are several benefits of reading self-help books. The first and foremost benefit of reading self-help books is that the experience puts the reader on a path to read, practise the strategies learned, and improve their lives without asking others for help. Thus, if we read, understand and decide to create our life plan and carefully do the necessary things to make us better, we can accomplish our goals and improve our lives significantly. The book is set up on an island in Japan called Okinawa. There the readers get to see a group of people who lived for more than 100 years. It is a rare phenomenon that there are such a large number of centenaries. Thus, there comes a question in life how can someone live that long. Here comes the topic of Ikigai.

In the literal translation of Ikigai, Iki means life, and Gai means result/effect. Ikigai book is a basket of life's secrets and techniques. It contains a collection of exciting and workable strategies for individuals who may feel that their life lacks a purpose. But this book doesn't simply help a person discover the meaning of life but also talks about making it achievable.

The book contains nine chapters. Each chapter is a gem to itself. Jotting down the summary of every chapter, the first takeaway from the book is 'to find what is that you love to do?'. This one question will ponder the brain to look for the passion that drives you all along with great enthusiasm. It is primarily the perfect combination of passion, duty, work, and pleasure, where you can find your Ikigai. The second and most interesting takeaway from the book is setting up a strong mind and thought-process not to overeat but eat that amount that your stomach can actually accommodate. Overeating only results in extra fat that will be the definite reason for ill-health! The scientific explanation is given in the book that helps a person overcome overeating is quite interesting.

Then another takeaway is about bonding with the family and people. It talks about following the heart, and the third is to create a strong bond with people! Take the time to spend with your family and friends. Transparency and communication are some of the key concepts explained here. To achieve all the above, staying fit and active is the most prominent ingredient, and thus, the next takeaway is this. To use the available resources, be it materialistic or mental, in the whole way possible is an excellent trait that one can acquire over the years. The art of engaging ourselves in whatever we do that we love helps us stay fit, which helps in mental health progress.

The easy yet effective English language with the required vocabulary comforts the readers to align with the said things in the book. The other elements like IKIGAI quotes, IKIGAI rules, and though it is engaging, it also skips some points that may have augmented the philosophy more efficiently.

As said above, there are many books about the purpose in life and people's problems. This book goes in-depth on happiness, way of life with ten ideas, creating flows, sure diets, and train and have fun. This book is a good recommendation!
