Kidnapping Ironically, I read a book called Whatever It Takes, and I thought THAT title fit this book even better! The gist of the story is that main character Aubrey is separated from her husband Jack, sharing custody of Charlotte and has witnessed what appears to be a crime. However, she has to decide how much she "helps" as her past may hurt her chance of shared custody. This was a very interesting read. I thought the plot was very easy to keep up with the twists and turns until the final 1/6 of the book. Then for some reason, the plot disappointed me. I guess I had a different ending in my mind, or a better explanation of event. I did like the ending. It actually made me smile. Even though it is not a romance novel, it sort of ends up that way. I could relate to Aubrey because I have always wished I had the ability to be "the friendly hacker". So surprised that an imaginative author beat me to the term!I would not call myself nosy or dishonest, but highly investigative. I have the ability to detect lies better than the average person. Also, if you remember the movie "The Blind Side," the football player was strong in safety skills. I have always been a very cautious person and done everything in my life around safety. I felt like Aubrey was a lot like that, too. I recommend this book for the mystery, plot and likeability. I've had this book on my TBR pile for so long and I finally got to it, why did I wait so long? This book was so great that I couldn't put it down and I ended up staying up till 1 am just to finish reading it. Aubrey has a past that is taking a toll on her and the guilt of it wouldn't let her continue to live in this new life that she has for herself of a stay at home mom to 3 year old Charlie and a wonderful, husband so she separates from Paul, leaving Charlie primarily with him. While Aubrey is trying to come to terms with her pass, get on her feet to have this new life sharing custody of her daughter, she gets caught up in a kidnapping and a murder. All Aubrey wants to do is have the police investigate the kidnapping of a boy she sees snatched into an SUV in broad daylight, however with no missing child reported the police don't believe her. Then a woman's body is found and Aubrey realizes that she is the mom of the boy she saw kidnapping (she had briefly spoken to the woman and boy while she was at the park with Charlie). When she tries to tell the police the reason the boy wasn't reported because the mom was killed they still seem to not believe her. She should just let it go, after all she did the right thing and reported a crime, It's not her fault that the police aren't doing their job but she can't just let it go. She begins her own investigation at first just to find proof that she isn't a nut job but the more she finds out and the more the police don't seem to believe her the more she gets in over her head. I know some parts I questioned "who does this" but overall I loved it, her past coming in handy, the relationship between her husband and daughter, the action. All of it. ☑️ Drama ☑️ thrilling ☑️ action ☑️ Mom on a mission ☑️ mobster like sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
