This book opens with the “good guys” finding an island to be their new home, discovering it is already inhabited by “savages ” (indigenous people) and then using dragons to commit mass genocide so they can live there. in una società basata sull'ingiustizia delle caste il giovane Inferiore Tau diventa un guerriero assurdamente imbattibile per vendicarsi delle ingiustizie tipico Heroic fantasy ed essendo tipico non delude anche se i personaggi più che cesellati sono tagliati con l'accetta ;) il ritmo, invece, è perfetto, perfetto, perfetto What a phenomenal read! This book had me from page one, and kept me in it's grip to the last punctuation mark. I love the deep dive into the African folklore(esque) setting and the commitment to place and people names that will be difficult for a lot of readers. The characters are incredible in this one. I love (and hate) them all with passion, which is everything I want from a book. Depth. Depth. And more depth. The world-building was vivid, but a little light for my tastes... I want to see more of the world and its people and I definitely want more of what was left behind! Gruesome, but not in a shock-factor way. The despair was believable and important for character-building, which I loved. Definitely give it a read! I'm plowing on to the second book, even though I know I'll have to wait at least a year for the third. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
