There, I said it! Brayden creates characters that are relatable and down-to-earth and Eyes Like Those is no exception. This story is a feel-good romantic journey from cover to cover. Taylor is my favorite of the mains. What’s not to like about her? She’s smart, driven, open-minded, and has a magnetic personality that someone as rotten as Ass-pen can’t say no to. I was all for “Team Isabel” for 90% of the story, til my support came to a screeching halt. I’ve never hated a main character as much as I hated Isabel. I know she’s just a fictional character, but I hoped bad karma would wreak its havoc on her. But supporting besties Gia, Autumn, and Hadley are the epitome of true friendship. Concerning Isabel, Brayden did a great job stirring emotions of anger and disgust in me because I usually don‘t get worked up over fictional characters; it’s just not me. As a result, I have a feeling I am about to indulge myself in this series or have a full-fledged Brayden-athon over the next week. Overall, this is a well-written, well-paced, and well-received romantic story by one of the genre’s best-selling authors. Okay. So, from the beginning of the book (in the acknowledgments) we know that it's going to be a series, but, it took me wayy too long to realize why the series is going to be called what it was called. Oops. My bad. It's the story of the friends who live at Seven Shores, Gia, Hadley, Autumn, and Isabel. This is also the story of Isabel and Taylor's relationship. Isabel is a new staff writer on the biggest TV show at the time, and Taylor is her Executive Producer. They start off just as friends and boss/employee, but slowly they get closer and closer. But, there are a lot of roadblocks in their way, including the star of the show, Aspen, being Taylor's ex and not quite the most sane about the breakup (and a seriously intense person, yikes). I liked both parts of this. The friend stuff between all the women, as well as the relationship stuff between Taylor and Isabel (and some of the TV/writing things were cool too). And then the fact that there'll be more books in this series. I loved all the characters (including the non-Seven Shores ones like Scarlet, Taylor's assistant (would love to see more of her) and can't wait to read more about any of the characters. I was given this ARC by Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

When it comes to love, no one is in charge. Isabel Chase is reeling. She's just been offered her dream job as a staff writer on one of the hottest shows on television and quickly trades in the comfort of New England for sun, sand, and everything Hollywood. While stoked for what could be her big break, the show's stunning executive producer has her head spinning and her feelings swirling. Taylor Andrews is at the top of her career. Everything she touches turns to gold and the studios know it. Just when she's on track for total television domination, Isabel Chase arrives in her office and slowly turns her world upside down. Isabel is intelligent, sarcastic, and dammit, downright beautiful. Unfortunately, she's the one person that can take away all Taylor has worked for. Will Isabel's success lead to Taylor's downfall? Or perhaps Isabel is all she needs... No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

It's very much a standard Brayden romance. If you enjoyed the Soho Loft series, I think you'll love this one.
Thanks to BSB and NetGalley for the book. ( )
