This shows a story of how students get their teacher ready for the first day of school! ( ) This humorous story takes the reader through a typical school year as the students prepare their teacher for the year ahead. The book opens with lighthearted instructions on how to welcome a teacher on her first day, in an attempt to calm her nerves. More instructions are posed as the students help their teacher prepare for picture day, the holiday concert, the 100th day of school, and field day. This book would be a perfect read aloud to kick-start the new year, especially for kindergarten. The illustrations are colorful and clever and would appeal to children aged 4 to 8. There is little or no white space throughout the book. The pictures help develop the characters: the teacher’s face shows her emotion, and the students’ actions support their teacher. They also add to the wit of the story. The illustrations convey a variety of emotions from both the students and the teacher, which is useful context and can be an aid for the reader. This story teaches students empathy, responsibility, and ultimately how to be a good friend. Ironically, the students learn how to get themselves ready for the year ahead. REVIEWER: Emily Holland FORMAT: Preschool - 3 ISBN: 978-0553538250 Some students help ease the nerves of a new teacher. The story covers some topics that might be a little scary for a teacher, like finding the bathroom. It highlights how some days aren't great but tomorrow is a new day. This is a great story for Kindergarteners and First graders. Perfect for the first day and getting kids familiar with life in a classroom. If your teacher is not ready for the school year, this how to will surely help. This book tells a how to about if your teacher needs help. It tells what students should do on the first day of school, on picture day, and at holiday concerts. Also, on the 100th day of school or when things don't go as planned. It gives students ideas like tell her how to get more food from the lunch lady, show her your favorite spots, asking her if she needs a comb, or remind her no messy snacks for picture day. The style of this book was so creative. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
