"A part of DC Rebirth! Barbara Gordon looks to add a new bullet point to her already impressive BATGIRL resume: travel agent. Having just (barely!) survived the Battle of Burnside and verging on an Arkham-worthy breakdown, the star pulls a Kerouac and gets on the road to find herself. Follow Babs on her worldwide quest in BATGIRL VOL. 1, with New York Times best-selling author Hope Larson and award-winning artist Raphael Albuquerque leading the way!"--… (más)

It was better than the Cameron Stewart Burnside run (which was godawful and a slap in the face after the brilliant Gail Simone run). But it was still a bit boring and Barbara was nowhere near as smart and capable as she has been depicted in the past. Also, the last issue in this volume with Poison Ivy on the plane was just weird.

I'm happy to see Babs again, very happy that it's no longer the shallowness, stupidity, banality of the Burnside run. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it gets better. ( )

Ho-hum superhero fare. It's so generic, my main problem is that it doesn't even need to be a Batgirl story. Aside from a few references to photographic memory, nothing here really requires Barbara Gordon's presence. I think you could photoshop in Black Canary or Huntress or Stephanie Brown and the story would work just as well with minimal changes to the dialogue. ( )

I received this from Edelweiss and DC Comics in exchange for an honest review.

I simply don't like the "new" Batgirl/Barbara Gordon. Instead of the crime-fighting sidekick in the Batman family, the writers have turned her into a bumbling Nancy Drew-type character. I just don't get it, turning a strong female character into something like this. Sad.

Anyway, this volume. I don't get the point of the "mystery" here. ( )

Hope Larson has to be one of my favorite comic writers. The problem I had with this volume is that it's titled as number 1 but it's part of a bigger series so I was dropped right into the middle of plot and story and didn't really know anything. Also, events from past volumes were mentioned leaving me confused. I really enjoyed Larson's take on Barbara Gorden and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. ( )

This is my first Batgirl. I look forward to reading more in this series. ( )
