An ambitious Air Force commandant, oil-rich Saudis, fearful Israelis, CIA operatives and an Egyptian government, corrupt and avaricious from top to bottom, together fuel the rage and deceit that eventually became the Arab Spring.'A first rate thriller. This was another great new read. The author did a lot of research, lots of detailed development of the characters and locations. It took me right into the story. I was right there amongst all the rest of the people. Easy to get caught up in all the happenings. Well done.

I can't really give this book a decent review because the ebook version was really terrible. I tried converting it to different formats to see if it would improver readablility, but had no luck. It really was a distraction. With that said, I finished the book, and really didn't find it very interesting. The main characters were just annoying. I finished, and thought, that was kind of a waste of my reading time. ( )

An espionage novel set in present day Egypt with the numerous twists and turns and a cast of strange but believable characters. The book is fiction but has the authentic feel of an autobiography in its richness and detail of place. More literary fiction than the usual espionage book. ( )

Bruce Colbert's new novel, The Cairo Arrangement, makes you believe you're caught up in the violence, intrigue and stink of that ancient city. His vast knowledge of the Arab world makes this reading experience so palpable as the events unfold during the turbulent Mubarak years. Worth a read. ( )

I received this ebook free from the publisher through LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review. The author gives the reader an inside look at Egypt under the Mubarak regime and its overthrow. This book is well written with good character development. The author seems to have a great deal of knowledge and an acute understanding of the Arab world of today. This is a page-turner that is action-packed with twists and turns. This book is very interesting and informative and well worth the read. ( )
