Group statues are those that show two or more figures on one composition, "i.e. the figures represented are in a single statuary group. This excludes statues that could be connected but are represented on separate bases." The aim of this two volume study (Volume I: Text, Volume II: Plates) is to present a collection of group statues of private individuals from the New Kingdom, and to address certain issues related to them. The study comprises a chapter on the typology of the statues, and a chapter involving discussion of regional variations and comparisons. Volume II contains the plates to illustrate the text.
