"Remarkable, riveting, disorienting and dark." --Madeleine Roux, New York Times bestselling author of the Asylum series A Nightmare on Elm Street meets Inception in this gripping psychological thriller from international bestselling author Amy Plum. Seven teenagers who suffer from debilitating insomnia agree to take part in an experimental new procedure to cure it because they think it can't get any worse. But they couldn't be more wrong. When the lab equipment malfunctions, the patients are plunged into a terrifying dreamworld where their worst nightmares have come to life--and they have no memory of how they got there. Hunted by monsters from their darkest imaginations and tormented by secrets they'd rather keep buried, these seven strangers will be forced to band together to face their biggest fears. And if they can't find a way to defeat their dreams, they will never wake up. Dreamfall is perfect for fans of dark and edgy young adult novels from authors like Danielle Vega, Natasha Preston, Kendare Blake, and Madeleine Roux. It is the first book in a spine-tingling duology full of action, suspense, and horror that's sure to keep readers on the edge of their seat until the very last page.… (más)

I love a book I can’t put down. They are far and few between but I found one for the new year and finished it the same day. This book started out fast and stayed on that track all the way through. No sluggish beginning or big lead up it dropped you in the story quick. I really like that in a book, give me the story and cut out all the fluff. Dream Fall is about dreams, I hate dreams, mainly about nightmares and a group of test subjects for a new shock therapy to change your REM and sleeping cycles the test subjects happen to be a group on teenagers. The test is controversial being on teens but the brain is not fully developed until you reach the age of 25. This is why they are the perfect guinea pig. Little guinea pigs with horrid nightmares that interlink and make you want to read the book in one sitting. I loved it!

4.5*

When 7 teens who suffer from different types of debilitating sleep disorders sign up for an experimental treatment, they were hoping to be cured. Instead, when something goes horribly awry, they are stuck together in a dream world where they are forced to live through each other's worst nightmares. 7 teens go into the dream world, but they'll have to battle evil monks, monsters, killer clowns, their own demons, and each other to make it out alive.

This is a well-written page-turner that will have you hanging on the edge of your seat and possibly afraid to go to sleep. If you take A Nightmare On Elm Street and combine it with every creepy and scary movie or book that you've ever heard of, it still wouldn't match how eerie, frightening, and disturbing this book is. As a fan of horror books, this has been a good year for spooky books and Dreamfall is now at the top of my list! ( )
