This text addresses the ingenuity of drones and how they have become popular in the past 10 years for various uses. This guided reading book can be used in a science class in which students are discovering the art of machines and robotics and how things are made. I would implement this text in an intro-to-tech class to get students to be curious about the power of technology and how it can improve one's life. The vocabulary is somewhat academic English, so students can be exposed to the word selection when they read it.

Drones by Katie Marco is an informational chapter text that would captivate readers through all the artwork and real pictures throughout each chapter. A teacher can use this book in a lesson about comparing and contrasting. Chapter two talks about the part and present of drone technology. Chapter three discusses the different kinds of drones people use today. Another great feature about this book is the true statistics that can inform readers as well as a section for important words that students can use to expand their vocabulary.

I gave this book a 4/5 stars because the information it presented was good quality information. The information along with the real pictures of what drones look like really helps the reader imagine what a drone is like in real life. Not only is the information good, but the book is simple and easy to follow so I could read this with many ages. ( )
