Shady characters, unrequited love, surprise twists and turns and lastly cliffhangers. This guilty pleasure brings me back every read. So it is fitting that episode 8 would center around a love triangle, a town get to gather and more nefarious deeds. I received an ARC of Thunder Rolls by Dee Davis in exchange for an honest review. With a heartbreaking choice, a surprise revelation and an explosive exposure this episode is the one I waited for all season. An explosive turn of events makes this not to be missed. The ultimate cliffhanger. What happens next? Will be coming back for more. ( ) This book is mostly about Hannah, Tate and Tucker, with appearances from some of the others in the town of course, though sadly for me I didn't get to see the sheriff.. What I loved: • This book was action packed. Lots of things happened, and it kept me reading. • Davis' writing is great. Drew me right in and left me wanting to read more. • Hannah and a certain someone had fantastic Chemistry! What I liked less: • The fact that there is unfinished business. I wasn't sure how they would fit it all into this last book... and well they didn't.. there is going to be a season two! Coming in 2016. That should prove to be interesting, however I hope they release the books close together like this again as I am not a huge fan of cliffhangers. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes to read about a scandalous small town full of secrets! * I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review * Release date: November 12, 2015 Thunder Rolls is the season one finale for Rising Storm, and it does what any good season finale does. It goes out with a bang and leaves you wanting more. Everyone's storyline seems to converge at the Founders Day celebration. the Senator is set to give a big speech, a betrayed brother will go off the deep end, and some really big secrets are exposed in a very public way. And as one secret is revealed, it unravels several more. Relationships are forever altered and nothing will be the same. I think this was a fantastic way to wrap up the season. Much of the drama is wrapped up in a way, but where one drama-door closes, two more open. And who knows what will happen next in Storm. The truth is finally out. All is revealed. Nothing is hidden from anyone. Feelings, betrayals, secrets are all revealed. The truth may have set many free, forging new identities and strengthening relationships, but plenty have been imprisoned by it, rejected, shunned and now alone. How everything plays out from here on , we must wait until Season 2 to find out. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales Quick & Dirty: The sexiest and steamiest episode yet! Opening Sentence: “It’s a wonder we ever get anything done.” The Review: Thunder Rolls is the final novella aka the end of Season One in the Rising Storm series. This novella was the steamiest and sexiest of the series so far. Thunder Rolls lays the ground work for the drama and secrets that will tear the community of Storm apart for some time to come. You definitely want to read this series in order to get the impact of how the different storylines play out. If you like drama, soap operas and knowing other people’s business, I definitely recommend this series for fun. The story has been leading up to the Founder’s Day celebration, a festival that everyone in the town of Storm pretty much partake in. I was really expecting a tornado to come through town with a title like Thunder Rolls or at least a good lightning strike to unsettle everyone. (You know like the Garth Brooks song says. I keep hearing those lyrics running through my head.) But alas, there was no actual storm just the big thunder clap ka-boom of the shattering of the towns many deep dark secrets. I don’t want to spoil any of the main events that happen during Thunder Rolls but I will say the main storyline does follow the love story of Hannah Grossman and the two brothers Tate and Tucker. I will say this is the only relationship that I believe will weather the storm that seems to be sweeping through Storm, Texas. Feelings were hurt but I’m really relieved as a reader to fill like a love story was finally told during this dramatic series. I loved the writing of this series and especially this installment by Dee Davis. Thunder Rolls actually had a romance hit a climax unlike the cheating or young couples that we’ve seen so far. I hope Season Two will have more stories like this. I have a feeling that Season Two will bring with it many more secrets and hopefully a resolution to a couple of the open ended storylines. Notable Scene: “I don’t want to screw up your life, Hannah. And I sure as hell don’t want to screw up Tate’s.” She nodded, tears filling her beautiful eyes. God, he hated when women cried. It damn near unmanned him. Especially when it was Hannah. “How can this be wrong?” she whispered. “When I want it so much.” “Sweet Hannah.” He sighed, throwing caution to the wind. He’d spent his whole damn life trying to walk the straight and narrow path. Do the right thing. And so far the effort hadn’t paid off at all. Maybe it was time to ignore his brain and trust his heart. Even though there was sure to be hell to pay. “You’re sure this is what you want?” “Yes.” There was no hesitation. Her fingers stroked his temples and her gaze never left his. “I’m positive. Sometimes you just have to take what you want. Damn the consequences.” FTC Advisory: Evil Eye Concepts, Inc./InkSlinger PR provided me with a copy of Thunder Rolls. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
