First Cooking Book that I read that did not manage to make hungry and everything makes me hungry. ( ) Chrissy Teigen wasn't really on my radar before this cookbook (other than being John Legend's wife), but you can bet she is now. She is hilarious and really real. And she totally knows good food. I've tried several recipes from this book that were delicious, but I would've bought it for the Chipotle-Honey Chicken alone. With great enthusiasm, and much love of subject, multi-media star Chrissy Teigen and food writer Adeena Sussman have delivered “Cravings: Recipes for What You Want to Eat” into the hands of the hungry public. For Teigen, it’s all about flavor—full-throttle flavor—salty, peppery, spicy, eat-with-heat flavor. Thai foods from Teigen’s own heritage are interspersed with a variety of dishes, including recipes from her husband, singer John Legend. Keeping Teigen’s super-model figure in super-style means keeping her kitchen wits about her and also keeping her sense of humor. The food is good, definitely not boring—how could it be with Teigen’s personality infused throughout the pages? You know that feeling when you want something to eat, something good, but you just can’t figure out what you really want? You might find exactly the right taste you’re seeking in “Cravings”. Here’s a sampler of recipes: “Spicy Tomato Skillet Eggs with Prosciutto”; “Pot Pie Soup with Crust Crackers”; “Cobb Salad with Honey-Mustard Ranch Dressing”; “Sesame Chicken Noodles”; “Steak Bites with Melty Blue Cheese Butter”; “Shrimp Summer Rolls”; “Buttery Glazed Green Beans”; “Mexican Street Corn”; ‘Zucchini Fries”; “Herby, Lemony, Spicy, Garlicky Roasted Whole Fish”; “John’s Marinated Steaks”; and “Dad’s Fried Fish Sandwich with Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce”. If your cravings tend toward the sweeter side of life—sorry, there’s no dessert section in this book. Teigen loves to cook, but says she can’t bake, and after all, she is a supermodel who “has to make every bite count”. Visit her on the web at “So Delushious”. Instead, I'll continue reading them straight, as I really appreciate those with a sense of humor and personality sprinkled amongst the food, and Cravings has that in spades. Though definitely written with [a:Adeena Sussman|553059|Adeena Sussman|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] for recipe ideas, the flavor text introducing the recipes is very much Teigen, and I really appreciate the personal flair as it does sound like what a good friend would say, sharing a recipe. The recipes themselves were easy to follow, and I didn't see any intimidating techniques... I did spy a few things where suggested marinating time could be 12-24 hours but wasn't reflected in prep, which indicated the minimum, but that's a minor quibble. The photography is excellent. I also learned via googling an offhand mention to living in Idaho that Chrissy lived in my hometown for a time, so our childhoods may have overlapped! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
