Novellas are often hard to review. Depending upon their purpose a) intro to a series b) an origin story or c) a complete story in short form. Well, this one delivers on a through c. Okay, well not really a because Greg and Fiona are introduced in the earlier Knitting in the City books. But this is their story - actually - their origin. And I love it. It funny, touching, and well written- well paced story. I'm not going to rehash the story as it is a quick read. But there isn't anything I can say I didn't like because I loved it. You really get a deep feeling about what the characters are about and can instantly connect to both. But I will tell you, Greg is going to give Alex a run for his money as my favorite Ms Reid hero as I progress to Happily Ever Ninja when it releases in January. Interestingly, you can read this novella as a standalone. It's a complete story all on it's own. You don't need to read the others in the series in order to understand the characters or plot line. And she ends the novella right where I love most of my romance to end - HEA. However, if you haven't read Ms Reid before, this is a great intro to her humorous style. If you love Ms. Reid, you won't be disappointed. 5 of 5 ninja stars. Reading my way through this wonderful series and I was brought up short at book 5 to find I needed to go back and grab this prequel to Fiona and Greg's story. I'm glad I did because this is a sweet story that gives much more insight into the couple. Fiona and Greg live in the same dorm, but he has a girlfriend and she is basically a hermit. Still, there's an attraction between them despite their differences. It's a nice story and adds a lot to the backstory for Fiona and Greg who are a married couple in the Knitting in the City series. It also explains a lot about who they are and why, especially Greg. I don't think it was necessary to read for the rest of the series, but it's still a fine story. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: What do a cynical former Marine and a sheltered former Olympic contender have in common? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He has a girlfriend and she's never been kissed. He's sullenly sarcastic and she's earnestly empathetic. He can't stop thinking about her. She knows she should keep her distance. Nevertheless, when opposites attract the results may be unexpected, but they're also undeniably magnetic. 'Ninja at First Sight' is a standalone, prequel novella (for book 5 of the Knitting in the City Series, 'Happily Ever Ninja') and is 40k words. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
