bluepiano: Well-written lives of two similar women: Very rich (though hardly blue-blooded) famous-in-their-time Yanks given to drugs and outrageous demands. You wouldn't have wanted to know either of the two but they're fun to read about.

bluepiano: Unlike Harkness Wingfield did have so-called blue blood & unlike her she wrote the works she put her name to. Like her though she was a rich addict who was pretty thoroughly unpleasant, especially to her children.
