The Royal Australian Air Force conducts biennial Air Power Conferences to foster regional ties and promote a wider understanding of air power issues. The 2014 Air Power Conference was held over the period 12–13 March 2014 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. The theme for the 2014 Conference was A Century of Military Aviation 1914 – 2014 and commemorated one hundred years of military aviation in Australia.These proceedings cover the grand narrative of air power development over the past one hundred years through an examination of key air power campaigns. They explore how air power has evolved over the past century in response to developing technologies, emerging air power ideas and, most importantly, the instances when air power has been employed in conflict.Day one focused on air power in the first half of the last century from around 1914 to the Vietnam War while day two looked at the development of irregular warfare through to the present. The conference concluded with a glimpse into the future of air power. --publisher.
